Jakarta Convention Center,
Gaikindo is to
hold its 14th auto show from 21 to 30 July 2006 at the Jakarta
Convention Centre (JCC). During the ten-day activity, the splendidness
of the national automotive industry will be on display.
Bambang Trisulo, President of Gaikindo commented, \"With many
challenges the nation is facing, including the raising of Electricity
Base Tariff and global oil price, the Indonesian automotive market is
degrading in the past 3 months. The market predicted to recover in the
second term of 2006.\" Gaikindo has targeted the automotive sales
around 450.000 units.
In this effort, Gaikindo gained accreditation as the 42nd member of
OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d\'Automobiles) and
thus held an unveiling press conference today, to officiate the
rebranding of the event to \"14th Indonesian International Motor Show
by Gaikindo\" - from the previous Gaikindo Auto Expo.\"
\"We believe that with OICA accreditation, this message will be relayed
internationally. Thus enabling foreign investors to take part in the
national automotive market with a mutually beneficial outcome\", said
Bambang.
It is thereby, a different tone and manner will colour this year\'s
event - making it different from the previous years. One excellent
example would be the international standards applied to its Press
Center.
To date, a total of 130 participants consisting of 24 car brands, 58
accessories manufacturers, bus and truck assemblers, main component
manufacturers, and 48 medias consisting 29 print media, 17 radio
